The Program
Summer in the Lot... a very special experience, where the warmth of fine weather mingles with human warmth, smiles on faces, art and joie de vivre. Here, we live to the rhythm of the sun, taking advantage of the lighter mornings for hiking, the afternoons for relaxation and the late afternoons for discovery.
- Saturday: You arrive at the Mas de Peyrelongue in the late afternoon. After a visit of the property and a first meeting with our horses, we will share a drink and dinner.
- Sunday: After breakfast, you'll set off to discover the Causse on horseback, in the shade of the woods and criss-crossed by low dry-stone walls. This is stone country. Stone is everywhere. Under the ground, around you, on houses, and man has even made monuments out of it, like the Bélinac menir. After lunch at the Mas, you'll have the afternoon to relax by the pool, before enjoying a tasting of local wines in the evening. Dinner at the Mas.
-
Monday: Breakfast at Le Mas. Today, you'll descend into the Célé valley towards the village of Corn and its typical Quercy houses. You'll take the St Jacques de Compostelle trail for a while, before heading back up towards the Causse. Lunch at Le Mas, followed later in the afternoon by a visit to a local cheese producer's farm. Dinner at the Mas.
- Tuesday: Breakfast at Le Mas. You'll meet up with your mounts for a third morning on horseback, heading for the Puy-Blanc ponds. The site is a former clay quarry which, following its closure, has been returned to nature to become a Unesco-listed sensitive natural area. Lunch at Le Mas, followed later in the afternoon by a visit to the Pech Merle cave. An authentic prehistoric decorated cave, where you can admire the majestic fresco of the "punctuated horses". At the end of the visit, we'll head for St Cirq Lapopie, where we'll spend the last evening of your stay together.
- Wednesday : Breakfast at the Mas and departure. Why not plan a last little detour via one of the many wonders that make the Lot so pleasant to live in? You can, if you wish, stay one or two extra nights at the Mas, excluding horseback riding activities.
Accommodation
We welcome you in our traditional Mas recently renovated. On the ground floor, you will appreciate the original paving made of Causse stones, the traditional fireplace (Cantou) and our lounge area giving directly onto the shaded terrace, the private garden and our large swimming pool.
On the first floor, three bedrooms allow us to welcome up to 6 participants maximum and guarantee you a warm and family atmosphere. The bathroom, shared, is composed of two independent shower cubicles and the toilets are separate. A small reading area is installed in the patio.
Finally, the Mas is surrounded by 50 hectares of varied nature in the middle of which our horses live. You will be able to walk and ride along the paths, on foot or on horseback, and discover our outdoor photographic exhibition.
Meals
All meals are included in the price of our stay and form an integral part of the Mas de Peyrelongue experience.
The Lot is well known for its gastronomy. So we're going to honor it and offer you tasty, home-cooked dishes with fresh produce throughout your stay. We offer a vegetarian/vegan menu option for those who prefer it.
Our Horses
More than thirty equines live on the property in large parks. Of various sizes and breeds, they are all educated in the respect of their nature and their personality, according to a behavioral approach. On the day of your arrival, we will show you around the farm to discover all our animals, their living conditions and meet your future companion!
